How To Acclimate Your Online Plant Purchases

Alocasia “Pink” Black Velvet

Buying plants online can be a gamble. Like any market, there are scams, but once you find a trusted seller it can be convenient and also a good way to find unique new plants to add to your collection.

At Lucid Leaves we take pride in our packing department to ensure your new plant gets to your door step safe and sound. But what’s next?

Your plant has just gone through a journey in the dark with varied temperatures. The last thing you want to do is put your new plant into more shock. Once you have carefully unpacked your plant, you’re going to want to acclimate it to your homes enviornment. You’re going to want to place your plant in a low light area just for a few days, and then gradually move it to an area with more light. If the soil is dry, give a little water, as needed, but I would not recommend transplanting or feeding nutrients until you can tell your plant has acclimated to its new enviornment. This usually takes about a week, but go off any signs of distress, your plant will tell you.

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We are happy to help.

Good luck and happy growing.
